Crispin Basketball Camps 2010

February 26, 2010

TIRO_VITTORIAThis year Crispin Basketball will host three camps running from June 28th to July 2nd at both Pitman High School and Pitman Middle School.  We are also looking into hosting a fourth camp at some point during the summer for kids ages 4-6 (Joe’s son is four and has personally requested such a camp).

Session A will be held for players entering the 3rd-5th grade at the Pitman Middle School from 9:00am-11:00am.

Session B will be held for players entering 6th-8th grades at the Pitman High School from 9:00am-12:00am.

Session C will be held for players entering 9th-12th grades at the Pitman High School from 1:00pm-4:00 pm.

As the week progresses, the times of Sessions B and C may be cut back, but we will run each camp Monday through Friday during that week.

As always, we focus on diligently teaching the fundamentals of the individual and team game.  The level at which we teach naturally depends upon the ages of our players.  We enjoy this week every year and have continually seen improvement in the players we have worked with.  We trust that will be the same this year as well.

Camp fees are as follows:

Session A 3rd-5th Graces Fundamental Camp – $85 for Pitman Residents and $100 for non-residents.

Session B 6th-8th Grades – $110 for Pitman Residents and $125 for non-residents.

Session C 9th-12th Grads – $110 for Pitman Residents and $125 for non-residents.

Each camp is strictly limited to 40 participants.  Reserve your spot today with a $50 deposit.  The balance will be due upon check-in.  Please provide your email address with your registration and deposit so we may send you a confirmation upon receipt.  (Note also that Pitman residents receive a discount because the camp is run through Pitman Recreation.)

You can view and/or download our camp flier/registration form by clicking here.  If you have any other questions or are having difficulty downloading the form, please  contact us.

2010 Camp Dates

January 8, 2010

June 28th to July 2nd.  More information will be published soon, but our plan is to run three camps that week, each running for 2-3 hours per day.  Grades 4-6 and 7-8 will meet in the mornings (at different locations), while grades 9-12 will work in the afternoon.  Stay tuned.  As we polish off the details, we will post them here.

Jon on the BTN Again

December 8, 2009

I meant to have this up the other day, but Jon will be doing color commentary again this week for the Penn State vs. UMBC game this Tuesday.  Game time:  6:30.

See Jon on TV Wednesday

November 24, 2009

Just wanted to let everyone know that tomorrow night, Jon will be doing color commentary for the Big Ten Network.  Penn State plays Sacred Heart at 6 p.m. EST in State College.  This will be the first of a good number of games Jon will be working for the Big Ten Network this season.

He is really looking forward to the opportunity.  I (Joe) am really looking forward to tuning in as well!  I’ll be sure to do my best to announce when he will be calling games in the future.

Register for Camp!

May 26, 2009

So far, we have received a positive response to our Crispin Basketball School, scheduled for June 23-27th.  We are excited to have a full week once again.  We just want to make sure that everyone knows there are only four days left to receive a 10 dollar discount for camp this year.

Detailed information concerning camp and a registration form can be found by clicking the ‘Camp‘ tab above.

Also, as we have tried to make clear in the past, if, with the current financial situation, you legitimately cannot afford to pay full price to send your son and/or daughter to this year’s camp, please contact us.  We want to be fair in any and every situation, while still being legitimate in running the camp and paying everyone (or almost everyone, b/c not everyone is paid) involved.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Joe and Jon Crispin

Camp Dates 2009

March 19, 2009

June 23rd to the 27th. These are our finalized camp dates for this year’s Crispin Basketball School at Pitman High School. The camp begins this year on a Tuesday because Pitman Schools do not conclude their school year until the 22nd.

The morning session will be for grades 5-8 and run from approximately 9am-12pm. The afternoon session will be for High School players and will run from approximately 1-4pm.

The cost for the camp for Pitman Residents is $110.  For everyone outside of Pitman, the cost is $135.  However, if you register before May 30th with a $50 deposit, you will receive a $10 discount.  Also, if you or someone you know would like to attend, but are having financial difficulty and legitimately cannot afford the camp, please contact us.  A registration/information form can be viewed, printed or downloaded by clicking here.  (To download, right click and save.)  You can either print it and send it to the address listed or download it, fill it out and send it to camp@crispinbasketball.com

And if for some reason none of these options work for you, please contact us.

We are also happy to announce that current Pitman High School Head Coach, Kevin Crawford, will be working with us and leading various sessions throughout the week. We have known Kevin for at least 15 years now, having played with and against him in various settings, so we are excited to work with him in this year and hopefully in the years to come. We are very confident that he will make this year’s camp even better than those we have run in years passed.

One final announcement: we are presently looking into the possibility of running another camp during the same week (from Monday to Friday) for Harrison Township’s Park and Rec at Clearview High School. If we do so, the leadership load for each session will be shared by Joe Crispin, Jon Crispin, Steve Crispin, Kevin Crawford, and Bobby Fisicaro. Ages and times will be announced whenever the details are confirmed.

2008 School Review and Photos

June 29, 2008

Much thanks to everyone who attended this year’s Crispin Basketball School.  Everyone involved enjoyed working with each one of you and were particularly encouraged to see your respective games progress as the week went on.  We covered a lot, even while reviewing the basics, and both the Middle School and High School groups did a good job catching on.  We hope you benefitted from the week a great deal and, in turn, plan on coming back next year.

I mentioned to the High School group that we would post photos from the week (I forgot to mention it to the morning crew).  They can be found by clicking here.  You can view them in slideshow format and also purchase them from Shutterfly if you would like.

Also, I wanted to announce to everyone that Jon and I will be playing with our old High School mates in a charity event on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Pitman High School gym.  We are gathering together a team from the two teams that won back-to-back State Championships in 1997 and 1998.  It should be a fun time.

Thanks again for your hard work throughout the week.  We would encourage you to keep it going.  We would also appreciate any feedback you have about the week.  Anything you enjoyed and/or thought needed to be covered.  We appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Enjoying the game with you,

Joe and Jon Crispin
