Down 2-0 After Game 1

Yes, that’s right, we are down 2-0 in games after playing only one game of our first round playoff series!  It’s a foolish rule for sure, but it is the rule here in Turkey that if you lose to a particular team twice during the season and meet them in the playoffs, you begin the series down 1-0.  So although we have only played one game, we are down 2-0.  It is what it is.

The final score of Game 1/2, Besiktas 85  Banvit  81.  Overall, we played pretty well.  We fought hard even though we were missing one of our best players.  We were down 15 at one point during the third quarter and ended up tying the game with four minutes left or so.  But they converted when it counted and we did not, so we ended up losing by 4.

I played alright.  Shot the ball well and ended up with 25 points, but my overall game wasn’t my finest.  Hopefully we can make some adjustments and come back strong at home.  Game 3 will be played this Thursday here in Bandirma.  If we win, we stay alive.  We have to beat this, the first place team, three times in a row to move forward.  It certainly won’t be easy, but it certainly can be done.
