Training with Joe
Greetings everyone. Essentially, I offer three different kinds of training.
This involves a very focused effort to not only train the player in the various fundamentals of the game of basketball, but to also take note of the individual’s particular skills and desires in order to help maximize his or her basketball potential. Personalized training then, involves much more than consistent one-on-one workouts. It entails a very personal and consistent investment into the individual player in order to help him (or her, of course) come to a greater understanding of his ‘basketball make-up’ and in turn, devise a clear plan to help him realize his full potential.
From my experience, every player possesses a certain range of basketball abilities. That is probably plain enough to us all. What is more, however, is that although this ‘range’ may include multiple abilities, an individual player is usually motivated to utilize and develop certain core abilities within his or her make-up.
Therefore, I believe that my job as a coach (or trainer) is to maximize a player’s motivated abilities while also helping him or her properly develop in every aspect of the game. This means that if I am training a player who has an unquenchable desire to score, I will do all I can to make him the best scorer he can be. But I will also help him see that he needs to learn how to round out the other aspects of his game, so that he is capable of doing more than just scoring. After all, unlike football players, basketball players don’t have the luxury of specializing in only offense or defense!
My schedule being what it is, this type of training will probably be limited to a small number of players, usually, of course, during the summer months. My usual cost for this type of service is $75 per workout. Workouts last for approximately 1 and 1/2 hour. Workout ‘packages’ can also be arranged.
This, of course, is one of the things I specialize in. After all, I have taken numerous (yes, probably too many) shots in my career. Consequently, I enjoy teaching and training players in the art of shooting. The focus of our workouts will be shooting development only. I am confident that with proper instruction and the use of various drills for high repetition, I can help anyone become a better shooter and in turn, enjoy the game of basketball all the more. After all, every player loves to score!
My usual cost for this type of service is $65 per workout. Workouts last approximately one hour. Again, workout ‘packages’ can also be arranged.
3) Group training.
This service is naturally not as focused as personal training and can consist of about 2-6 players. As would be expected, the amount of individual instruction depends upon the size of the group. Skill development is the focus (as always), but I also want to utilize these sessions to create high-intensity workouts in a ‘team’ type setting. Therefore, it is best (though not mandatory) to bring together players of comparable capabilities.
Naturally, cost for this type of training is on something of a scale. The more players, the less cost per player. For a group of two, for example, each workout is usually $45 per player. For a group of six, $20 per player. And again, ‘packages’ can be arranged.
In the end, I am open to anything you think I can do to serve you (or your child) as you seek to maximize your abilities as a basketball player. I also do not want cost to become too great a hindrance, so please contact me with any requests.
Enjoying and imparting the game,
Joe
